Monetization is the process of converting or establishing something into legal tender. Monetization usually refers to the coining of currency or the printing of banknotes by central banks. Such commodities as gold, diamonds and emeralds generally do have intrinsic value based on their rarity or quality and thus provide a premium not associated with fiat currency unless that currency is "promissory". That is, the currency promises to deliver a given amount of a recognized commodity of a universally (globally) agreed-to rarity and value, providing the currency with the foundation of legitimacy or value.
Investments are time, energy, or matter spent in the hope of future benefits actualized within a specified date or time frame.
In finance, investment is buying or creating an asset with the expectation of capital appreciation, dividends (profit), interest earnings, rents, or some combination of these returns. This may or may not be backed by research and analysis. Most or all forms of investment involve some form of risk, such as investment in equities, property, and even fixed interest securities which are subject, among other things, to inflation risk. Investments are indispensable for project investors to identify and manage the risks related to the investments.
